The Tomball Magnolia Waller (TOMAGWA) Health Care Ministries asked the Tomball Lions Club to partner with them to provide free vision screening to their needy patients. Diana Gayle, MSN, Director of Nursing at TOMAGWA, prepared a list of patients who needed screening and met our parameters. Nurse Diana translated our vision screening consent forms into Spanish for those who could not speak English. She also helped during the screenings to translate when necessary. We conducted 11 screenings today with 3 being referred to a vision specialist. We intend to continue the screenings at TOMAGWA as they have about 50 patients who have the need. Most of these patients are located in the Tomball area, but a few reside in the Magnolia area. Lions Mike Halbach and Paul Hancock conducted the training. They are shown on the photos, along with Nurse Diana Gayle. Our Club supports TOMAGWA monetarily and services.
