Dr. Piracha is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  Talking about “Living with Chronic Illness”, Dr. Piracha stated that the disease burden of chronic illnesses has greatly increased over the last few years. Hypertension, diabetes, obesity and hyperlipidemia are big social problems that need to be addressed. In his talk, Dr. Piracha spoke about the dietary modifications that can be employed to help this issue. He discussed strategies to reduce salt intake, achieve better glucose control and how to differentiate good lipids from bad lipids. And to cap it all, he gave a sample diet plan that we can start using immediately on a road to being healthier and happier.
