Both Lions Camp Directors Wes Carr and Scott Perry gave a presentation about the camp history and purpose. The Texas Lions Camp was founded in 1949 by Lion Jack Wiech with the original name of the Texas Lions League for Cripple Children Inc. The name was changed to the current name in 1971. The goal has never changed "A child has disabilities through no fault of his own. Every child has the right to a happy childhood." ~ Jack Wiech.

The Camp provides an atmosphere where the campers learn the "Can Do" spirit. The camp counselors help encourage the campers to use the "Can Do" attitude to achieve not only their goals at the camp but in their entire life.

The Campus at Texas Lions Camp encompasses over 500 acres in the Texas Hill Country south of Kerrville, Texas. All living quarters and most activity areas are air conditioned for the comfort of our guests. The camp had in 2014, 1540 campers supported by 25,400 Lions in Texas.

All of the TBLC members thanked them for coming and talking to the club.

Motion made by Bob Erwin and 2nd by John Phillips to adjourn.
