Lion Paul is currently Treasurer of the Executive Committee of the Lions Eye Bank of Texas and he provided Club members and guests a presentation on the Lions Eye Bank which will be an introduction to a tour of the Eye Bank being planned for later this month.  His presentation covered the history of the Lions Eye Bank of Texas, originating with a local District 2-S2 Lions getting together with the VA Hospital and the Baylor College of Medicine Ophthalmology Department to secure corneal tissue for transplanting.  He demonstrated the large area including the Lions Eye Bank and its partnering Districts 2-S2, 2-S1, 2-S4, and 2-A3, covering from the southern tip of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley up along the Gulf Coast into deep East Texas above Lufkin.  Each of these Districts have elected Trustees on the Board of Directors of the Lions Eye Bank of Texas.  He covered the importance of educating the public about eye safety and health, the donation process, the life of a donated cornea, and the operation of the Lions Eye Bank of Texas by the Lions and Baylor College of Medicine.
