Lion President Ervin introduced guest speaker, Bruce Hillegeist, President of the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce who gave a very interesting and informative presentation. He presented data on population growth in the Houston Region relative to other large cities in the country and the fact that the Houston Region is the most diverse major metropolitan area compared to New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Houston will soon take over Chicago’s spot as the 3rd largest metropolitan area in the country. Mr. Hillegeist discussed the organization of the Tomball Chamber and its relative high ranking amongst all chamber of commerce organizations in the country. He summarized the Chamber’s functions and activities (much more vast than just ribbon cutting ceremonies) and the significant commercial and residential growth in the Tomball area in recent and future years.
